This report discusses state and development of Armenia since the end of its war with Azerbaijan in 1994. The paper introduces sources of political instability in Armenia, explores the political landscape and reviews constraints on development. Subsequently, the paper addresses the country’s positive economic development since the end of the war as well as its foreign relations. The paper argues that Armenia needs to supplement economic success with robust democratization and strengthened rule of law.
