This briefing paper examines prospects for peace in Northern Uganda. It describes the background of the conflict in the region and the motivations for peace of the parties involved. The paper argues that the peace process should be pursued actively and quickly to end the conflict. It discusses possible confidence-building measures and possibilities for a cease-fire.
