This report examines the July 1998 elections in Cambodia. It gives an overview of the election campaign and the election day. The paper then analyzes the post-election situation, namely the results and the formula for seat allocation, as well as domestic and international reactions and the standpoints of the different political parties. It concludes by stating that the Constitutional Council and the National Election Committee have failed to live up to their commitments.
