This report addresses the situation in and around Zimbabwe just after the systematic manipulation of the presidential elections by the African National Union –Patriotic Front (ZANU-PF) government. The paper outlines the different means employed to falsify the elections, introduces regional and international judgments of the elections and discusses implications for Zimbabwe. Further, the paper reviews options to overcome the situation, including international and regional involvement. It argues that the strategic use of state violence and extra-legal electoral tinkering were used to falsify the elections.
