This report addresses the state of Sudan's peace process and recommends and provides a blueprint for achieving a comprehensive agreement involving international and regional key actors. The paper addresses Sudan’s politics of war and counter-terrorism, including growing opposition unity, regional developments and gradual deterioration in the North. Subsequently, the paper reviews the Danforth initiative that resulted in a ceasefire and explores options for a real peace process. The paper argues that for an eventual solution Sudan lacks a peace process that is taken seriously.
