This report presents arguments for a quick resumption of foreign aid to Burundi. The paper discusses the need for responsible aid focusing on the unstable situation and the violent discriminatory state. Subsequently, the paper outlines how Burundi can advance from peacemaking to peacebuilding. The authors discuss the deadlock between the donor community and the transitional government and suggest ways to break it. The paper argues that the international community must restructure and consolidate its approach.
