This paper addresses the critical state of Somalia's peace process and its lack of international support. The paper also examines several issues that are crucial for reconciliation and reconstruction, including the constitutional issue, economic recovery and demilitarization. Finally, the paper develops suggestions for a possible way forward, warning that there are no quick fixes when a country that essentially needs to be reinvented.
