This report gives an overview of the conflict in Darfur. It examines the politization and militarization of ethnic groups and highlights government mismanagement and manipulation of the peace and reconciliation process in the country. The paper also describes the single actors in the conflict and their positions. It urges peace talks to continue and, simultaneously, a parallel process to address both the humanitarian and political crises in Darfur.
