This brief first examines Niger’s domestic sources of illicit arms and its cross-border trafficking dynamics. It then discusses the applicability of UN SDG Target 16.4.2 to these problems and recommends ways to improve the progress-monitoring mechanisms that exist within Niger and Africa in general.
