This paper examines the implications for the EU of Islamic radicalism in Central Asia and the Caucasus. The authors consider security issues in both regions, analyze the Muslim mainstream and discuss the sociology and economics of Islamic radicalism. The study concludes with a set of policy recommendations for the West and the EU in particular.
