This paper examines the status of economic developments in the Central Asian republics (CARs) and considers the region’s economic prospects to 2015. First, the study considers macroeconomic developments and income distribution in the CARs. Second, it analyzes the previous regional and global developments and maps the future for the CARs to 2015. Finally, the authors assesses the competitiveness of the industrial sector in the CARs.
