This paper outlines what must be addressed within the next two years of the Democratic Republic of Congo's (DRC) development, building on the successes of the peace and democratization process. It presents the results of the DRC's transition, focusing on the track record of Joseph Kabila, and identifies political and security challenges. Subsequently, the paper discusses measures necessary to consolidate the peace, commenting on strengthening democracy and improving security. It states that the Congo's situation is far from reassuring and is characterized by a paralysis of the state and a distressing lack of communication.
