Dec 2007

This paper discusses the South Korean presidential elections from December 2007. The authors look at the possible implications associated with the expected outcome of the elections and focus on the expected consequences for relations with North Korea. The paper explains how each of the three presidential candidates from the elections advocate a somewhat different approach to North Korea and details how in the case of Lee Myung-bak from the conservative Grand National Party a stricter policy approach toward the North could be expected.
