This paper examines the prospects and challenges of the European natural gas market in the context of Gazprom’s dominance. It assesses the circumstances requiring Europe to diversify gas-supplies and draws attention to the natural gas-supplies in the Caspian Sea region. The author also highlights the strategic decisions facing Europe and notes the Nabucco project.
