This report looks at publishers related to Indonesia's most prominent Islamist organization, Jemaah Islamiyah (JI), and assesses their possible impact on Islamic extremism in the country. It reviews the role of Islamic publishing, examines other JI-linked companies and introduces the publishing process. Subsequently, the paper examines social networks involved and assesses the efficiency of state monitoring. It argues that the best way to ensure adequate scrutiny of JI publishers would be for the Indonesian government to enforce its own laws.
