This paper examines the interrelations between energy and politics with a focus on Russia. The first part addresses Russia’s economic challenges and political strategies. The second and third parts consider the country’s new energy frontiers and links to its foreign policy. The fourth and final part concludes with ecological issues and their implications for the energy industry.
