This issue of the RAD takes stock of recent Russia-Iran relations. The first article argues that although there are genuine reasons for Moscow and Tehran to strengthen their ties, establishing a long-term collaboration between the two states will take a lot of work. The second piece then analyzes why the predictions that the Iranian nuclear deal would lead Tehran to deemphasize its ties with Moscow haven’t panned out. Finally, the RAD issue closes out by providing poll data on how Russians perceive Iran and a statistical portrait of the two countries’ trade relations.
