This report provides an early assessment of Myanmar’s new democratically-elected government and the steps it’s taking to address the country’s authoritarian past. The text’s authors also examine some of the key challenges the country faces – i.e., the ongoing peace process; the volatile situation in Rakhine state; Buddhist nationalism; and the rebalancing of relations with neighboring China.
