Publication

Oct 2002

The publication examines the impact of small arms and light weapons (SALW) in Central America after the cessation of armed hostilities in the 1980s and early 1990s. The authors review available indicators of armed criminality that indicates rampant insecurity. However, they argue that obstacles remain in the analysis of firearm-related homicides, crime and other related factors due to gaps in information.
