This paper analyzes trends in firearm-related violent deaths from 2010-2015. It concludes that 1) the use of firearms is particularly prevalent in the Americas, Southern Africa and Southern Europe, and 2) while the proportion of violent deaths involving firearms has remained relatively stable in most regions, patterns can vary at the national level. Indeed, diverging trends in countries such as Albania and Croatia demonstrate the need to consider additional factors when analyzing firearm-related violence.
