The main article of this issue addresses al-Qaida’s propaganda campaign and aggressive attacks in Yemen in 2008. It further looks at the role of the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group in the global Jihad; the evidence of al-Qaida’s declining finances; the UK’s experience in counterradicalization efforts; and the expanding internationalist agenda of the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM). Two chapters also examine the military challenges of nanomanagement in counterterrorism and the role of small units in counterinsurgency efforts.
