This report examines how relations between the government of Myanmar and international aid organizations have changed in the aftermath of the 2008 cyclone. The authors discuss how this unprecedented cooperation may allow for promoting sustainable human development in the future. It is argued that expanding and deepening engagement in support of human development in Myanmar also presents the best available opportunity for the international community to promote positive change in the country. The authors make a number of recommendations toward these goals.
