This publication discusses which lessons learned from the Iraq war are likely to influence China's foreign policy doctrine and geostrategic behavior. The authors argue that the Iraq war legitimated Beijing's noninterference doctrine and hardened perceptions within the Chinese strategic community of the need to remain neutral in its foreign policy engagements. They also explain that China recognizes the need to diversify its energy sources.
