This paper discusses the collection and analysis of deliberate injury data and its role in identifying the sources of Liberia’s endemic violence. The text’s authors specifically compare the quantity and quality of data collected at hospitals with the data reported to the Liberian Armed Violence Observatory (LAVO). They further discuss how improved accuracy in the collection and exchange of such data will enable the creation of more effective government policies.
