This report examines the state of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) and the need for a more effective and consistently applied political strategy to complement the Uribe administration's military measures. The authors review FARC's strengths and weaknesses as an organization, summarizes the strategy employed by Colombia's government against FARC and discusses the prospects of the conflict. The paper finds that FARC has been adapting to the more difficult circumstances with some success and several of its fronts are still capable of resisting offensives in key areas.
