This paper examines some of the strategic implications resulting from the war between Russia and Georgia. First, it gives a brief description of the geo-strategic context for the US and NATO in the Caucasus and then some analytical thoughts on the conflict itself. This is followed by implications and corresponding policy actions for Georgia, the South Caucasus and for the Euro-Atlantic community.
