This note analyzes Mexico’s current border security practices and the potential impact of the Trump administration’s controversial immigration policies. As the text’s author sees it, the latter policies are 1) starting to raise serious privacy and surveillance concerns along the US-Mexico border, and 2) making America’s neighbor a refugee destination in its own right.
