This study analyses the armaments standardization approaches of the EU and NATO as well as policy initiatives in the domains of maritime information sharing and remotely piloted aircraft systems. In looking at other defense capability areas that may benefit from future policy initiatives on armaments standardization, the text´s author points to military mobility, cyber defense and defense energy management as potential priority areas. The publication also includes recommendations on how European armaments standardization can be advanced in light of Permanent Structured Cooperation (PESCO) and the European Defence Fund (EDF).
