This paper examines how the EU and India can work together to ensure the free movement of maritime trade between each other’s regions. The text also examines 1) the potential impact of China’s Maritime Silk Road project on the economic and security interests of Europe and India, and 2) whether there is sufficient political will in Brussels and New Delhi to transform their existing dialogue on counter-piracy into a structured mechanism that promotes maritime security cooperation.
