This text examines the ongoing political turmoil in the key Indian state of Tamil Nadu, where multiple political actors are competing for the recently vacated position of chief minister. While the underlying motives of key power players remain unclear, the paper’s authors explore a number of potential scenarios and suggest that the state’s governor must be prepared to undertake decisive action in order to safeguard the region’s political stability.
