This publication zeros in on the technological dimensions of China’s One Belt, One Road (OBOR) Initiative. As one of the biggest infrastructure projects of the 21st century, the text's author posits that OBOR’s success will rely heavily on emerging technologies to overcome four key obstacles: 1) the slow speed at which goods travel; 2) administrative inconsistencies, particularly at borders; 3) high labor and logistics costs; and 4) the lack of visibility on the status of goods that are in transit.
