This paper examines the various policy positions the incoming Trump administration will have to take in relation to Russia. After looking at Russo-American relations during the Obama administration and the factors that contributed to their demise, the text’s authors then focus on the “resist and deter” challenges the incoming US president will face, including the shadow war in Ukraine, NATO enlargement, next-step arms control, Russia’s information warfare activities and interference in foreign governments’ domestic affairs, and the war in Syria.
