The Centre for International Policy Studies (CIPS) at the University of Ottawa is one of Canada's premier producers of policy-related academic research and a focal point for discussion of international policy issues. The Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI) was established by the Norwegian Parliament in 1959 in order to promote a better understanding of international issues in Norway. This series is part of a project co-organized by both institutes to examine the possible future role of the UN's peacebuilding architecture. It identifies 'stretch targets' for the Peacebuilding Commission and its associated bodies in order to stimulate fresh thinking about the UN's role in peacebuilding.
