Daniel Möckli is a senior researcher at the Center for Security Studies (CSS) and head of its Strategic Trends Analysis Team. He is editor and frequent author of the policy brief series CSS Analysis in Security Policy, which offers a focused discussion of current developments in international security and global affairs. He is also editor of the annual CSS publication series Strategic Trends.

 

Daniel Möckli studied History, International Relations, and English Literature. He received his Bachelor's degree from the University of Kent at Canterbury and his Master's degree (Lizenziat) and Doctorate from the University of Zurich. He is member of the International Institute for Strategic Studies and a Young Leader alumni of the American Swiss Foundation.

 

His main fields of expertise are: 1) Europe, the US, and the Middle East, with particular focus on the Arab-Israeli conflict; 2) European security; and 3) Swiss foreign and security policy. Previously, he was also working on the history of European foreign policy cooperation, covering issues such as the EC-Nine and the Middle East, EC-US relations, changing Western security governance, and pan-European security (CSCE).
