Christopher Findlay is the CSS's academic editor. He is responsible for editing all English- and German-language research publications generated by the CSS researchers for language, style, and content. He also translates academic texts from German into English and vice versa.

Christopher Findlay studied History and English at the University of Freiburg in Germany and completed his studies with a Master's degree from the University of Cambridge in 1997. From 2001–2005, he was the editor of ISN Security Watch, the CSS daily news bulletin on matters related to security, defense, and international relations. Before moving to Switzerland, he worked as the information officer of the International Solar Energy Society (ISES), the world's largest professional society in the area of renewable energy. He also served as the content manager for its web-based information system.

Christopher Findlay also works as a freelance editor, translator, and journalist. His special areas of interest include energy policy and the historical, social, and cultural history of current conflicts, particularly in the Middle East and Europe.
