Deborah Kaithan-Lopez is a communities manager in the ISN content-communities team. She joined the ISN in July 2004 as deputy to the executive editor. Her duties included recruiting student staff, overseeing the improvements to the Digital Library and developing new services. From February 2007 until July 2010, she worked part-time as an editor for the Digital Library. She was also responsible for the ISN internship program and developing the ISN jobs board. From August 2010 until June 2011, she supported the organization of the conference International Security Forum (ISF) 2011.

Deborah Kaithan-Lopez holds a Master's degree in International Relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and International Studies from Millersville University of Pennsylvania. Her research interests include genocide and ethnic cleansing, as well as women and war.
