This issue of the RAD features two articles. The first piece argues that Russia’s current food policies largely benefit its elites while burdening the rest of the population with higher prices and reduced choice. The second article then touts Primorsky Konditer, the Vladivostok chocolate maker, as a prime example of a resilient company that has managed to survive the vagaries of Russia’s unstable economy.
