This paper asks why the EU and the League of Arab States have not yet established a regular summit with one another, especially given the range of common concerns the two actors share. Indeed, the text’s author highlights that there has never been a greater need for such a summit due to how it could help 1) facilitate regional integration in the Middle East; 2) provide momentum for peace efforts in the region; and 3) address the Middle East’s deep-rooted economic problems.
