This report explores the possibility of creating an anti-missile system based in Europe in order to protect the US from long-range ballistic missile threats. The authors evaluate proposals by the Bush administration to establish the system. based on arguments that North Korea and Iran constitute major strategic threats. The report discusses European responses to the proposal and concludes with an overview of related congressional actions.
