This report reviews US unilateral trade preference programs for the Caribbean and how they have been affected by free trade agreements (FTAs) in the region. The author discusses trade policy options to deal with Carribean countries relying on such trade preferences and that may be considering whether to negotiate an FTA with the US. The report discusses issues and circumstances that may pose a challenge for US trade policy in the Caribbean.
