This report focuses on the often-ignored challenges faced by those seeking, through memorialization to help repair societies that are emerging from violent conflict. It discusses the different ways in which societies emerging from conflict can heal the social rifts and wounds that were created as well as the role of outside providers of assistance in helping in the process. The report concludes by providing recommendations to international actors interested in assisting in the process of memorialization.
