This policy brief discusses conflict in Chad, the international community's involvement and the regional dimension hampering resolution of the conflict. It begins by examining the political, security and humanitarian dimensions of the conflict. The authors also outline the August 13 Political Agreement, which aims to achieve competitive elections in Chad. The brief then explores the regional dimension, such as the proxy war occurring with Sudan, and the presence of EU and UN Peace Support operations.
