This paper finds that among the key binding factors between India and Pakistan, the Urdu language emerges as a significant one. The author provides an overview of the important Urdu newspapers in India and Pakistan and their ideological inclinations and raises the question to what extent the Urdu newspapers do influence the relationship or are influenced by the relationship between India and Pakistan.
