This report describes the 2003 US-lead military campaign that toppled Saddam Hussein's regime in Iraq, as well as past US efforts to oust Saddam from power in the 1990s. The report also provides information on US post-conflict reconstruction efforts and governmental stabilization measures in Iraq.
