This report addresses the implementation of gender perspectives in post-conflict reconstruction efforts in the case of Liberia. In particular, it looks at the broader conceptual implementation of UN Security Council resolution 1325 "On Women, Peace and Security" and the construction of physical units for the protection of women and children, the Women and Children Protection Sections adjacent to Liberian National Police stations throughout Liberia. The authors ask to what extent the policies promoted by the UN have worked to address the problems of vulnerable groups and to what extent they have taken into account the needs 'on the ground'.
