This issue of ACCORD Conflict Trends explores the outlook for peacekeeping in Africa. Contributions evaluate the concept of developmental peace missions, discuss the coordination of civil-military relations in peacebuilding missions, and detail the prospects for the UN Peace-Building Commission (PBC). Additional contributions reflect on the role of public information (PI) and the media in post-conflict peacebuilding in West Africa, and assess the effectiveness of the African Union Mission in Sudan (AMIS), which is operating in Darfur.
