This issue of ACCORD Conflict Trends discusses peacekeeping and peacebuilding in Africa, with special attention to the role of parliaments. Contributions discuss the emergence and context of parliaments in Africa, the participation of women in African parliaments and the stabilizing capacity of parliaments. Additional contributions examine the role of parliaments in election-related conflicts and assess their utility as institutions for conflict management.
