This paper considers how the Australian Defence Force (ADF) can actively support interactions across the national security effort, drawing on the ADF's resident experience in interoperability and deliberate planning. The author examines what needs to be done to improve the often-quoted "whole-of-government approach to national security" and where government can draw inspiration for crafting that approach.
