This analysis looks at the Obama administration's policy toward Russia, pointing out the contradictory message that Barack Obama's visit to Moscow and Vice President Joe Biden's subsequent visits to Kiev and Tbilisi sent to the Russian government. The author concludes that any attempts to divide Medvedev and Putin or to present Moscow with contradictory policies and statements are bound to be counterproductive as it makes Moscow increasingly weary of true US intentions.
