This report gives an overview of Belarus and its economic, political and social challenges. Furthermore, it looks at Belarus' complex relationship with its big neighbor Russia. Finally, it contains three case studies looking at the country's civil society organizations, the media and the ideological influences that dominate the country's educational system.
